1). While serving during World War 2, in France he was pinned down inatrench filled with rain and mud, the weather was freezing. He hadtostay in this ditch so long and in one spot that he froze in themudwhere he lay. There was no way he could get out. Finally he wasableto get out of this frozen mess. His legs were useless. He couldnotwalk for a long time and had to get about in a wheel chair. He wasatrue Christian, for his handicap did not stop him from doing thethinghe loved most. His love for God kept him alive. He would rollhimselfup to the organ at Holbrook Campground Church, play the organsing forall to hear until his death in 1975.
