1). The second son of Peter Manigault and Elizabeth Wragg, Jo seph, married a daughter of Arthur Middleton, the signer, w ho soon died leaving no issue. He then married a daughte r of Charles Drayton, of the well known South Carolina fami ly. The fruit of that union was eight children, of whom th e only daughter married Thomas House Taylor, afterwards rec tor of Grace Episcopal Church, New York city.
