1). William Pinckney served as a major in militia in 1740.
2). Col. Miles Brewton  s daughter, Ruth Brewton  1704 1770, m arried William Pinckney  1703 1766 , who was captain in th e Charles Town battalion of militia, then captain and late r major in the Charles Town regiment, Deputy Secretary of t he Province, and Commissary General.
